Born in Brazil and raised in Queens, New York, Marcel Cocit went from a baby bottle to marsala sauce.

As a child, he watched while his Romanian mother and Italian/Spanish father made music in the kitchen.  Some of the family favorites they cooked were Stuffed Cabbage, Chicken Pizzaiola, Beef Stew and Chicken Croquettes.

At age 5, Marcel picked up a spatula and joined the fun in the kitchen. He was hooked. He knew this was what he wanted to do.

He prepared and created recipes with his parents and attended culinary classes. Marcel is a graduate of the New York Restaurant School and has a Certificate in Culinary Arts. Following school, Marcel worked as a private chef for some of Manhattan’s most prominent families.

He believes that people eat first with their eyes. As a result all of his recipes, which utilize only the finest and freshest ingredients, have to delight both the eyes and the palate. While International cuisine and regional American comfort food are his specialties, desserts are his passion and LOVE is baked into every bite.

After moving to California in 2000, Marcel began catering private events for celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Larry King, Lisa Marie Presley and Ryan Seacrest, to list just a few. He has appeared on the Food Network, E-Channel, Style Network, ABC, Hallmark Channel, FYI, MTV and Kcal 9 News.  He also has been a regular on the CBS Thanksgiving Day Parade Special along with KCAL 9 News whipping up some of his favorite recipes.  He is in constant demand as a caterer for films, TV shows, corporate events and weddings and always brings his warm and engaging style to every job.

Since getting married to his wife Jeannie, she has teamed up with Chef Marcel to help grow their catering business. She has many years of experience in the food and beverage industry and together they now run a successful catering business in Los Angeles.  Their business is built on having to continually reinvent their food and drink menu for each new client, catering to that client’s particular tastes (and budget), the theme of the event, the audience they will be serving, and sourcing local, seasonal ingredients to make their dishes and drinks really shine.  They also work with all types of dietary restrictions or allergies without taking away the integrity of the food.  Their always reinventing, reworking, rediscovering how to make their menu as memorable as possible, and their chemistry in the kitchen is the foundation of what makes both their marriage and business thrive.

Marcel is currently in development for his own cooking show featuring him and his wife, Jeannie. They both just appeared on, “The Thanksgiving Day Parade,” on CBS together doing there Pillsbury Segments. They also have a Youtube Cooking Show called, “Love At First Bite,” to share their love for food and to help others create more love in the kitchen. He is also developing a line of of products under the brand, “Love At First Bite,” and is in conversation with several home shopping networks about launching his own line of desserts.
